Why is New York diffrent

Everyone might know that New York is in Wellawatta, well, I am talking about the movie. I actually went to witness the magic recently and I noticed few stuff that makes this movies stand out form the Hindi Movie genre.

1. There were three main roles, that is a bit normal, and only two supporting characters who had some lines. There was no 
   1.  a good friend of the girl 
   2. a funny friend of the guy
   3. annoying grand ma 
   4. or at least a funny cop duo
2. Warning Major spoiler: the girl *dies* in the end with the guy, even when they have a kid. Well that is quite unheard of in a Hindi movie.
3.  For a while you think they are NOT kissing America's ass, even thought at the end you realise, err they are not. The White guy don't die, but the brown dude. 
4. There are only two songs, and you kinda feel they actually fit in the story line. 
5. At the end of the movie you just see something that you never have seen in a hindi movie. End of the epilogue: Two guys walk away with a kid.
